A Monogram or Lettermark is a style of design that consists of letters, usually brand initials. Examples include Louis Vuitton (LV), Chanel (interlocking C’s) and Gucci (interlocking G’s).

Pictorial Marks or Logo Symbols
A Pictorial Mark or Logo Symbol relies solely on images or symbols to communicate the brand identity. Examples include the Apple logo, the Nike swoosh and the World Wildlife Fund’s panda.

Combination Mark
A Combination Mark, either simple or complex, merges images and typography. Examples include Spotify, Mastercard and Dropbox.

Abstract Logo Marks
An Abstract Logo Mark is a specific type of pictorial logo that includes an abstract geometric form to represent the business. Examples include airbnb, Pepsi and NBC.

Mascots

FAQs

What's included in this service?

We include 3-6 unique design concepts for review, up to two rounds of revisions for one approved design direction, final refinements of the approved concept design and a logo style guide.

What is the process?

To get started, we’ll ask you to provide your business name, slogan or tagline and any design reference examples that show the type of logo that you’d like to have created. Those are the key pieces needed in order to start the design process.

How long does it take?

The average project timeline is between 3-4 weeks. The first round of design concepts are typically presented within 7-10 business days. Revisions are also typically presented within 7-10 business days of receiving feedback.

Do you offer revisions after the initial design is delivered?

Yes! Once you’ve selected your favorite design concept, we’ll provide up to two rounds of revisions. For most of our logo projects, two rounds of revisions covers what’s needed to finalize your design. Additional revisions may be available upon request.

Do you offer unlimited revisions?

We include up to two rounds of revisions to finalize your new logo. The need for unlimited revisions is uncommon, but if you’d like additional revisions or variations of your logo for different use cases we can provide a revised estimate upon request.

Will you provide different file formats (e.g., SVG, PNG, JPG)?

Your logo will be created as a vector graphic, allowing for scalability. Once the design has been approved and completed, you will receive the primary logo as a PNG file, as well as a style guide in PDF format. The style guide includes all design elements, fonts and color codes.

Do you offer branding guidelines?

Yes! The fundamental branding guidelines are included in the style guide that you will receive once your new logo has been designed and completed. These guidelines include design elements, fonts and color codes.

How do I trademark my new logo?

Most businesses either hire a trademark professional to provide this service or they submit and file a trademark application on their own. Check out this resource from the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) with more information regarding trademark basics.
